Whether or not we’ve read the books or seen the films, we’ve all heard the name Harry Potter.
One of the most iconic character of the autumn months, created by English author J.K. Rowling in 1997. A series of seven fantasy novels in the form of seven collections, all of them have been hugely successful ever since.
Now that we’ve arrived at colder weather, I’m sure many of us will be running Harry Potter marathons in our leisure time, but
how many of the following ten interesting facts do you know?
1. Harry and Ron never finished their studies at Hogwarts. Only Hermione graduated after Voldemort was killed, but all three of them got jobs at the Ministry of Magic.
2. The actress who played 14-year-old Hystis Mirtill was actually 40 year old.
3. J.K. Rowling also revealed to fans in an interview that Hagrid had no patron of his own, so he would have been defenceless against attacks from dementors and lethifolds.
4. Dumbledore was 115 when he died and Voldemort was 71.
5. All three main characters appeared on the chocolate frog cards – Harry, Ron and Hermione.
6. The exact reason is still unknown, but the actor who played Ron could not be present during the filming of Harry and Hermione’s kissing scene.
7. For over six months, nearly 50 people built the model of Hogwarts.
8. The numeric code 6-2-4-4-2, which Ron’s father used as a security code in the Ministry of Magic means the word ‘magic’ on the phone keypad.
9. Ordinary people saw only the ruins of a castle instead of Hogwarts.
10. The spells were inspired by Latin words.
