The most beautiful sight was from 18:08 to 18:20, with the northern sky glowing red behind the Mecsek. The web camera of időkép.hu captured the whole scene.
What is the aurora borealis?
The aurora is a temporary light feature produced by charged particles (mainly protons and electrons) penetrating the atmosphere at the Earth’s north and south poles. It is most often observed from late autumn to early spring, north of the Arctic Circle and south of the Antarctic Circle. It is not usually visible from Hungary.
