Tradition says that we should take down last year’s Christmas tree on the sixth of January.

Those of you who have already done this are either following tradition or just a coincidence. However, there are also those who do not even wait until next year, but get rid of the evergreen between the two holidays.

However, we have also heard from our readers that they put off cutting down the tree until the end of January to keep the fragrance in their homes.

If the tree isn’t shedding its leaves from the heat, why not wait as long as you like to take it down, as the longer the spirit of Christmas stays with us.

But if you’re thinking of keeping your bare pine tree off the street for days or even weeks, there are dates for tree removal this year. The trees will be delivered at different times in each municipality.

After the Christmas period, from 8 January 2024, the public service provider, Dél-Kom Nonprofit Kft., will start collecting surplus pine trees. The collection will take place until 31 January on the municipal waste delivery days for each settlement and street, depending on capacity. In the months of January and February, we also offer our residential partners the opportunity to drop off pine trees at our waste yards.
