The Faculty of Arts of the University of Pécs welcomes all jazz fans and those interested in the genre to one of the biggest jazz events in Pécs in recent years.
The PÉCSI JAZZ DAYS will be held on 22-23 November 2023 at the Liszt Ferenc Concert Hall of the Faculty of Music, University of Pécs. The programme will start on Wednesday 22 November at 11am with an interactive discussion about jazz, classical music, improvisation and the infinite possibilities of self-expression between Daniil Chabaud and jazz artists Júlia Kalosi, Gábor Juhász and Kornér Fekete Kovács.
The programmes are the following:
22 November, Liszt Ferenc Concert Hall, Zollnay Quarter, Building E22:
- 19.00: Juhász Gábor Trio (Gábor Juhász: guitar, Zoltán Kovács: double bass, György Jeshensky: drums).
- 20.15: MAO „Art Blakey Tribute Band”

On the next day, Thursday 23 November, at 10 am, a masterclass by Barász Bági (recently retired president of the Hungarian Jazz Association) entitled „Possible ways and means of musical self-organisation”.

- 19.00: Mihály Borbély – Dániel Szabó duo (Mihály Borbély: saxophone, clarinet and tarogato; Dániel Szabó: piano).
- 20.15: Jazzkari concert (Júlia Karosi: vocals, Dániel Szabó: piano, Ferenc Daniel Szabó: drums, guests: Marcell Jani: double bass, Mihály Borbély: wind instruments).
