December is a busy month. The Christmas activities that take over the city, the various festive concerts and parties and the fairs are magical. There are also so many opportunities at the beginning of the winter months in Pécs. Here are some opportunities.
1.Put on your skates and head for the ice!
Saturday night ice skating was an essential part of our youth. Let’s bring back these unforgettable experiences. Opening times may change depending on the weather, which can be found HERE! Adult ticket: 1500 HUF, student 1100 HUF.
2.Hot wine drinking at Széchenyi Square!
The first festive tunes were played, the Christmas tree was set up and Széchenyi Square was filled with the delicious smell of mulled wine and horn cakes. From 1 to 24 December, the 12th Advent Craft and Fair on Széchenyi Square will offer a programme of music, children’s activities, a gastronomic courtyard, a craft fair and light painting.
3.Donate to those in need
In Pécs we pay a lot of attention to donations. During the holidays, we can donate to charity: we can help people in need, children who are sick or without a family, or even animals in suffering. 4.Advent music at Pécs
Advent concerts are held every weekend in December in the Cathedral and in the Catholic churches of Pécs. More information is available HERE.
5.Let’s admire the Advent Children’s Light Painting Contests on the Jami’s site
As every year, children’s drawings will be featured on the side of the Jami. Exhibition of works: first, second and third weekends of Advent:
- 1-3 December 16.30-19.00
- 8-10 December 16.30-19.00
- 15-17 December 16.30-19.00
Public voting: 8 December from 12.00 to 18 December from 12.00 to 12.00. The results will be announced (online) on 21 December at 17:00. Presentation of the winning designs: 21 Dec 18:00-18:30.
