The Trió Cave is located in the Western Mecsek Landscape Protection Area, in the Szuadó Valley, about 3 km south of Orfű.

It is the second-deepest and the sixth-longest cave in the Mecsek, characterized by the boundary between karst and non-karst rocks.

The main attraction of the Trió Cave is its diversity. It contains narrow passages, spacious shafts, wide corridors, crevices, and shafts. The first third of the cave is narrow and requires crawling, making it an exciting section.

The second, middle section is spacious and features shafts adorned with beautiful stalactites, including the ‘Búbos-kemence’ and the stalactite flag hanging above it, which is one of the largest stalactite formations in the Mecsek. The final third of the Trió Cave is a narrower section, occasionally having crevice-like passages, with smaller chambers.

The tour can be undertaken with prior booking, starting from the Mecsek Háza „cave exploration center” in Orfű.

Participation doesn’t require special preparation, although there is a fair amount of crawling and climbing on hands and knees in the cave. Ladders assist with movement in the more challenging sections. It’s important to note that tours are held from April to October, depending on the weather.

Total duration: 4-4.5 hours per group/tour

The fee includes guided tour and equipment (overall, rubber boots, helmet, headlamp), as well as accident insurance.
