This year’s National Blood Donation Day of the MÁV-Volán Group is waiting for blood donors at 17 locations, including Pécs. It only takes sixty minutes and a little blood to save the lives of others during Advent.
On Friday, 8 December, the Hungarian Red Cross, MÁV and the National Blood Service will welcome blood donors in 17 regions of the country, and this year Volán will join the programme.
The aim is to raise awareness of the importance of blood donation among MÁV-Volán customers.
The country needs between 1600 and 1800 volunteers every day to maintain a safe blood supply.
Blood can only be replaced by donations, so it is important to have the right quality and quantity of blood products available every day of the year. Three types of blood products can be produced from the units of blood collected,so one donation can save up to three lives.
