Thanks to the wonderful natural environment, Baranya has several botanical gardens. The beautiful arboretums give you an excellent opportunity to relax and recharge your batteries.
Pintér garden
The Pintér Garden at Tettye is a collective garden, where visitors can admire the winding paths with woody and herbaceous plants, two small ponds and works of art. The upper part of the arboretum leads into the typical Mecsek forest of karst bushes. Between the two parts you can see the chapel of Havi-Hill and the corpus of Sándor Rétfalvi.

University of Pécs Botanical Garden
Each part of the botanical gardens has a different speciality. Mediterranean, semi-desert, subtropical, aquatic and marsh, Japanese and Asian collections.

Szérűskert Arboretum – „Where nature meets culture”
It was founded in 2010 in the Kertváros of Pécs. Due to the bound soil, you can meet new wonders every season: roses, ornamental trees, shrubs, evergreens, fruit trees, peonies, leander, sweet vines, strawberries, raspberries and herbaceous ornamentals.
Ten special seating areas with elaborate cast iron benches have been created. You can also walk around the garden pond.

Püspökszentlászló Castle and Arboretum
In the late 1700s the castle was landscaped. The Zsolnay fountain and fish pond in front of the castle were already there at the time of Bishop Esterházy. Special plants and trees were planted in the courtyard and a game park was created, where deers were kept. In addition, a bowling alley and an outdoor swimming pool also adorned the arboretum in the early 1900s.
Today it belongs to the Danube-Drava National Park and is part of the East Mecsek Landscape Protection Area. Eighty-four species of trees and shrubs from all over the world can be found here.

- Free for local residents and under 14 years old.
- Visiting the castle costs 1000 HUF/person, including the guided tour of the castle and a free walk in the arboretum, which lasts about 90 minutes.
Arboretum of Harkány
The hotel, built in the heart of the arboretum, which offers a relaxing and enjoyable stay in the middle of the botanical gardens.

Komló Arboretum and Treasure Park
There is a sad story connected to the Komló Arboretum. A student of the local Szilvási Primary School died in an unexpected plane crash, and his grandmother built a playground in his memory, which was dedicated in 2013 with the help of the municipality and public donations.
Next to the arboretum there is a Treasure Park, which also offers a ropes course, a slide, a tree house and a 40-seat carousel for all ages. A small river runs through the arboretum.

Opening hours: the best time to visit is from spring to autumn, avoiding rainy days.
Melius Herb Garden
Since 2008, the Melius Herbal Garden has been part of the University of Pécs. In the framework of a course in farm botany, they can study the botanical characteristics of medicinal plant species
A secondary purpose of the garden is research. The garden contains nearly 200 members of more than 50 plant families, and the number is growing.

Sellye Arboretum and Draskovich Castle
Sellyei Arboretum has the largest number of plant species in the South Danube region. You will find 240 broad-leaved, 115 evergreen and spring flowering crocuses. The park has been a nature reserve since 1965. The castle was designated a monument after the Second World War.
